Getting Ansy

Our closing date on our house got pushed back by a few days so I am getting more antsy! My first plan for the house is to paint all of the baseboards and doors white, which I hope will create a nice light flow throughout the house. There are many windows and a skylight and by having a lighter color in the house it will feel much more open, especially when the sun is shining through. Once I get started on this project I will post photos and step by step of what I did. Now – I am no “expert” in anything DIY, but you can only get better by trial and error, so I am happy to show everything I will mess-up as well because I know for sure that I will have many mistakes, but hopefully some of those mistakes can become something different and good! I am also starting to think of what plants and flowers to use so I will need to do some research on what greenery grows best out here in Idaho, if you have any suggestions for me please let me know! ~~~

A little about our move

It’s an exciting time for us, we are only 12 days away from getting the keys to our new home. We have so many plans for what we will do with it to make it ours! We have been here in Idaho since October and have been dealing with the “worst winter in 30 years” – at least that is what everyone is telling us. We lived in Roswell, New Mexico for awhile, then moved back to our roots in Apple Valley, California, I then got an opportunity to get a transfer with my work out to Meridian so we jumped on the chance. We luckily already had family that were living here so it has been a wonderful transition with moving here. The weather has been much worse than I thought it would be, but hey – change is good. It’s nice to actually have a real winter for once, but yes, I can’t wait until springtime is here. So far so good though, I drive a small car and haven’t had any issues driving around, it helps that I went and got studded winter tires almost immediately. Totally worth it by the way – plus they last for up to 5 seasons! Just have to remember to take them off by April 15th. Moving here was hard because my husband and I both have a lot of family still in California, but we know that we will lead happier and fuller lives in a place where we can fish, float down the river, hike, camp, eat at awesome family owned restaurants all within a 20 minute or less drive from home. We have been able to enjoy the Boise downtown experience for “First Thursday” and it is awesome! I highly recommend going! We certainly love this city of trees, I have never lived in a place that is so green with huge, mature trees before. We are very excited to start building our garden in our new home, and we hope that you can join us for our journey into home ownership in the Treasure Valley ~~~
